Has Anyone Tried Using Fels-Naptha?

A MyPrurigoTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Kalamazoo, MI

I had never heard of this before this past week. A friend got into some kind of poison (whether ivy, oak, or sumac is unknown). He does have sensitive skin of sorts, like trumpet Vine makes him break out for a couple days, where it didn't used to.
He found out from a nurse to try Fels-Naptha, lather it up and let it dry, much like I had used both selsum bule and coal tar soaps.
It is working on drying it up after less than 24 hours!
So I was wondering if it helped anyone with PN?

This was not intended as a sales pitch, it was a question if anyone else had used or tried it, I had never heard of it, I now have used it, and it does, for me.
Fels Naptha is also listed to tackle poison Ivy, oak, and sumac.
My friends poison ivy is gone.
I have used it in shower in am for several days, and it is drying up my lesions that are being pests and not leaving. I shower in evening with Shea butter African black bar soap to replenish hydration. I also have been applying Aveeno Eczema Therapy nighttime itch relief balm at bedtime which really helps with calming hydration.
No, this is not a sales pitch, but what is working at this moment topically for me.

I found African black soap so soothing & all good ingredients. I use Fels Naptha for laundry & rinse with vinegar.

Linda thank you - I use the Shea butter African black bar soap. It is the only soap that cleans good and allows some softening in summer and in a flare. I started using the fels Naptha in the morning, then Shea butter African black soap in evening. Have to keep ingredients simple and natural for me... And it's actually been that way my whole life.
I used to do my feet like that at night... Put Vaseline on them and wrap saran wrap around at bedtime.. put some amazing moisture back into my feet!

This is what I found on Fels Naptha:

Fels Naptha Soap Ingredients
This soap contains sodium palmate, sodium tallowate, and sodium cocoate. It also consists of talc and water. Fels-Naptha soap ingredients work together to tackle your toughest stains.

A wet bar of Fels Naptha Laundry Bar is also the perfect pre-treatment for tough grease stains. It is a fantastic degreaser.

You may be wondering where to buy Fels-Naptha soap. Look in the laundry aisle at large stores like Walmart, Target, Ace Hardware or Amazon.
