Members deeply validated the experience of relentless itching and scratching cycles, especially at night, with many sharing that their families have also questioned their sanity or suspected drug use before understanding the reality of this condition. Several members found relief through practical strategies including 4% lidocaine lotion, ice packs, Dupixent injections, DuoDerm gel bandages to prevent scratching, Benadryl before bed, and the YUKA app to scan skin products for harmful ingredients. A recurring theme was the profound impact on quality of life and relationships, met with fierce encouragement from others to keep fighting, share what works, and remember that no one is alone in this struggle.

I have prurigo & found an app that you can scan barcodes on skin products that tell you what is bad or good for you, it is wonderful, I found Black African body wash that is so soothing & is approved by YUKA, the name of app, also great checking foods contents , also makes suggestions for beet of what you are looking for. I found using it helps me find hair care, body lotions etc that does not contain harmful ingredients.
Have started using Frankincense & coconut oil . Also on Dupexent for about 4-5 months, nodules slowly healing, less itching. I do use Benadryl if itch gets intense, mostly at night.
The YUKA APP IS FREE

Hi Gigi. For a long time I had Consistent ALL DAY itching but was most severe immediately after getting out of bed early in the morning. I was taking probably 10 to 15 showers a day it was the only thing that seemed to make the itching stop but it did not remain stopped usually about a half hour after taking a shower I would be right back to itching and scratching and pure hell. I have for the last year been buying sarna and Gold Bond and every other itch cream gel you name it to try to get the itching to slow down I still am using sign up religiously everyday however my itching has switched in the last month to it has decided that I will have periodic spurts throughout the day maybe two or three that lasts just like 5-10 minutes but has kicked in overdrive at night time usually starts between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. and will go until I go to bed and sometimes I can't go to bed till 3:00 in the morning other times if I do get to bed I get woken up to the fact that I need to be itching. And my family too as well thought that I was on drugs or freaking crazy and thought I was having a mental breakdown especially after everything I was telling them I was feeling but now with the actual diagnosis my family knows that I wasn't psychotic hopefully yours can come to that realization and be supportive of you with the diagnosis I wish you the very best. My quality of life is none as well I have no life currently I'm waiting and just waiting for the day I can be normal and back to me again hopefully.

My itching is worse @ night. It starts getting bad when I lay down. I have recently tried an ice pack& it seems to help.

Still cool it is very hard and not even dermatologist have an answer because if they did we would all be going thru a recovery with a treatment. You are not alone and least of being crazy we just don’t wish it on anyone and thank God it’s not contagious!

I too have hours of endless, scratching and itching. Of course, that just makes it worse. Mine seems to be set off by something touching it especially if I go to change my clothes. I too have tried the gold bond, diabetics hydrating lotion, which does give a little relief to the irritated skin. I am also on Dapsone , Steroid topical creams and now I have just started on
Dupixent. I’m hoping and waiting for some relief.
