I Went To See A Dermatologist 10 Days Ago And Was Prescribed Dermovate Steroid Cream, A Skin Antibiotic And Emolument.
Big improvement in my discoid excema, the rash has nearly gone. BUT.......I am holding my breath as to what happens when the treatment ends.
Martyn
So glad the new creams and antibiotic cream have helped the excema
That's great news
You mentioned B4 that the dermatologist had diagnosed you as having ezcema and not PN At least you finally received a proper diagnosis thank goodness
That's what I'm worried about as well as I've been using Taro-clobestral which is also a strong steroidal cream
It definately has helped with all the many PN nodules/ lesions I had all over my body except on my scalp
I've not been using it at all this week just to see what happens and so far so good thankfully as no new nodules have appeared miraculously as I didnt know what would happen or what to expect
I have to call and make an appointment with my dermatologist and ask her what I should do next?
Will the PN reappear in the future or has it healed thanks to the cream?
Time will tell I guess
We all have to be patient patients
It sure does test our patience factor that's for sure
Take care and once again I am so happy you are also finally getting some positive results .❤️
Take care
Hope your wife and doggies are also all doing ok💜
Cheerio
Bye 4 now
Hi Martyn, sorry I haven't heard of this procedure.
WhenClobetasol didn't help they started Dupixent injection. So far I am on the 7th injection but your treatment sound much less painful.

Just read your thread/ conversation
I've been using a strong steroid cream prescribed by my dermatologist - Taro-clobestral since my diagnosis in April and it is working well
I know steroids aren't good long term but it does help
I stopped using the cream last week and so far so good only one new tiny nodule on my stomach but it isn't itchy 4 some reason which is good but as you say Tara it could be in a dormant phase & reappear at any time- even the specialists dont know the cause or what PN will do in the future
Its 2 good 2 B true that its disappeared 4 ever
Time will tell I guess
Its definately a mysterious mystery disease 4 sure & more research needs 2 B done 4 sure
I just want 2 know what caused/ triggers it in the 1st place
Stress I think is a big factor
Also it usually appears in people over the age of 40 & not so much in younger people or children 4 some reason
Take care
Bye 4 now
I have no idea about the future of my PN. Just reveling in complete itch & pain free time I have. All nodules have flattened out some skin is white some still pinkish yet I’m 82 close to 83 so not concerned about appearance just so thankful found a Dermatologist who cares & doing his best to alleviate the psi & discomfort 🙏❤️
Hey, awesome for you Linda6!
So could that suggest that once itch-scratch factor is broken and and the nerves and skin has a chance to calm down, almost like getting it into remission. That it can lay dormant for a time until another flare up or trigger....? Is that the way of it? For those who have obtained that kind of success with their treatments...?
I have heard that it can be in remission for years... Any truth to that?
I Would Love To Have Someone Explain This Awful Breaking Out. Know One Will Tell Me It’s Like They Don’t Know I Need Help
Is There Any Way To Get Rid Of Bumpy Scabs And White Centers That Just Hang On? Has Anyone Tried Scar Removal Cream?
If Steroid Creams Only Alleviate PN And Don't Cure The Condition And Should Not Be Taken Long Term, Is There Any Point In Using Them?
