Paying For Dupixent

A MyPrurigoTeam Member asked a question 💭

MyWay card covers $13,000 per year which covers about 4 months of the injections. How does everyone cover the other months? Our health insurance isn't picking up any of the cost.

We are waiting to get in to a derm. Our GP does not have samples of Dupixent, so this makes me excited that once in with a derm, we may be able to get samples to help bridge the gap!

Hey Jamie my insurance wasn't going to cover it either but I finally got accepted but depending on where you live depictions has a program that you can get on and get help with some of the cost I had called them directly and that's what they told me but I have my dermatologist been working on everything

I agree with Michele2. My dermatologist is also working on it. So far my dermatologist has given me 10 dupixent doses from samples, which is 20 weeks worth. Yesterday when I was there she looked me up and told me it was still processing, so the dermatologist is aware of the process although I did not know that, or ask for it, I was pleasantly surprised. So far what I know is that my co-pay would be $1200 monthly, which I cannot do. PN is considered a “rare disease” and receives a consideration. Dupixent is about $37,000 a year, another drug I am on is $76,000 another is, $6000. I am lower middle class I would say that over many years I have had to pay, a very small or zero co-pay, on these drugs because the companies are very eager to get what they can. I was thinking with the medication that is $76K over 18 years I have been on it has been close to a million and a half. If the company did not help me with my co pay, I would not have been on that drug and therefore my insurance would not have shelled out over a million +++ dollars to them, which is why I feel they have an interest in helping with the co-pay, so keep working at it. I have faith for you.

I’m in NYC, I got full coverage for it with filling paper work with dermo and PCP,
I am on Medicaid so with this being a medial need , plus with biopsy and paper work I was approved for the shot. Try that route idk how is it’s in your state , every state is different but with the right dermo behind the paper work and good communication with your primary Care physician (PCP) I have hope u will be covered.

This isn’t right at all .. I wish you good luck and prayers!!!! Keep us updated on your progress and shots! Don’t give up!

This Bitch PN can’t win… don’t let her win … go home PN .. you drunk 😂

Hi Deb
Thank you so much for this information. I'll be talking with him about this treatment.
I can handle most things but I've never known such itching. And to think 10 years that thought frustrates me.
Once again thank you.
