75 Year Old Woman With Diabetes, Celiac Disease, & Now Have PN.
I have diabetes, celiac, disease, and now PN. I’ve tried several things, but can anyone help me find something to stop the itching and scratching?
i use a 4% lidocaine skin lotion to temp stop the itching…it lasts for over an hr and immed stops the itching
Try DuoDerm 'gel' bandages. They a flesh colored --- will last a few days even through showers. I get them on Amazon -- there are a few sizes and you can cut them. They absorb the 'ooze' a literally keep you from scratching.
I find lip balm to help.
It softens the nodule, and relieves the itch, and pain.
Anita3,
I am an 80 year old man dealing with pn for 5 years. I suggest, and use anything with lidocaine in it sprays and lotions are out there (5% best most are 4%). Also keep everything moisturized it’s more painful when the crusting is dry and sharp. Cold pads from the freezer are my go to during a flare up, wrap them, lay on them, hold them close. I have learned some self hypnosis techniques and meditation also. This is a challenging curse we have but like Job don’t give up your faith. It’s hard I know too well. Hoping you have pain free and discomfort free minus, hours, days…
