Does Anyone Know The Real Cause Of PN? What's The Best Treatment Today? What Food And Fruit To Avoid?

I just got PN 5 months ago but not exactly sure how I just get it? They say unknown but can be underlying medical condition like diabetic, liver or kidney issue, etc. I don't think it's hereditary.

I am a 75 yr old fossil, and have had this since I was 60, UGH.......horrible to go along w/all the other old age ailments!! I seriously feel for ya, & hope through this knowledgeable group you can find some helpful relief tips! I have tried almost all of 'em, and found out you have to determine what might work best for your PN. I am on my 7th week of Methotrexate which was never offered as a option to me by the 8 Dermas, and a Allergist. I had to do a lot of research, & still having some major flares, but hoping this will kick in soon to give me some much needed relief. Mine is on my scalp, and it has been horrible for almost 15 years of intense itching, comparable to mosquito bites that never go away just spread! Some specialists think you are just insane in the membrane, & they will never understand unless they experience it!! I hope the best for you!🙏

I was diagnosed with PN about 18 months. My first flare up I used Cerva with a liquid steroid added! Significant improvement rather quickly🥰 . Then about 8-9 months ago it started again and even worse! I continued treatment and out of control . I am so embarrassed , all parts of legs! I am 76 and do have a very treatable bile duct/liver diagnosis for about five years! I never dreamt this would be something that just never went away! Sure hasn’t been explained to me? Sounds like NO ONE knows! Any thoughts, suggestions? Thank you, Pam

I also spent hours of research trying to eliminate foods that make things worse..
But what I decided was...for me.. I eat whatever I want! lol...Because so little is known about the causes of this effliction.. I only stay away from things that ive been tested for and am Allergic to.. My system needs alot of different nutrition. So I only deprive myself of the known causes of allergic reaction.
