Pam7 I used Scalpacin extra strength a couple times a day for scalp treatment and Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. Scalpacin was soothing and allowed the sores to dry and heal on my scalp and along the hairline. My dermatologist approved it. I still use it although I'm all clear in my scalp at the present time. The Nioxin shampoo and conditioner I've used many years because I know many chemo patients were given soothing results in a shop where I get my hair cut. My hairdresser mentioned it to me years ago because I have thin hair and mentioned it had fallen out in clumps from antiviral pills I was given for fever blister on my lip from the sun. I now use Salve which works faster and won't affect me losing clumps of hair. The Dr back then said not to ever take antiviral pills. It was a reaction to the meds. Maybe you can try Scalpacin for the pn in your head. It's medicated and soothing. It sure helped me, and stopped my picking and my Dermatologist warned me it's the worst thing I can do with PN. It leaves discolored scars. Good luck and feel better. It's a brutal time for us all. πŸ™ Hoping the Sun 🌞 starts to Shine soon.

My skin is a terrible mess of scars and my clothes and bedding usually have big blood splats. Luckily there are many helpful people to suggest I put some cream on it and stop scratching πŸ™„

Like everyone else on here, I too suffer dreadfully with this monstrous disease that just doesn't let up torturing me physically and mentally.
From what I've read from fellow sufferers, My only hope for some quality of life is either Dupixent, or a total knee replacement containing no materials that cause an auto immune reaction as has happened in my case.
I would seriously guard against steroid treatment, antihistamines with drugs, like Dapsone which resulted in me being hospitalized recently because of serious side- effects.

my worst area is back of my scalp in the groove at the neck. theres a big crusty colony that is constantly itching, burning and stinging. i pick off the layers of crust, but much of it hurts really deep if i try to pick it off. if i pull one of the deep ones off, sticky glue-like stuff comes out of them, and matt up the hair. tried otc/rx ointments, creams, lotions, and sprays. i wish i could get refunds for all of them that didnt work.
