I agree with you KcDavies. I am still scratching until I bleed in my sleep and wake up to a bloody mess. That alone tells me this is not a tic disorder, anxiety, or mental health driven disease. None of those things happen during sleep if it truly is a mental health issue but the itching continues. For me, it is the itching that starts first, long before the nodules are even visible. The constant itch you can never scratch because they are too deep. I do not have thyroid issues.

After 20years in PN hell I started Dupixent over a year ago. From day 1 I have been completely cleared of PN. By the time I drove home from the clinic the itch was gone, in 3 days my skin was totally cleared. Personally I don’t ever want to be without it. I do my own injections ( not difficult ) and am grateful to have this medication and the relief it brings me. I have no problems sunshine or humidity. They are not triggers for me. IMHO PN is telling us that something is malfunctioning in our system. It’s not the result of anxiety, anxiety is the result of PN. Very few docs and derms understand that the itch is endemic to the disease and this is a causal factor in the itch/ scratch cycle . Too many are still in the dark ages willing to blame the patient. I frequently read that folk who develop PN have thyroid issues, ( I do ) . It would be good to see a long term control study to determine if this is the source of PN.

Omg I’m Puerto Rican and I grew up on coffee and just caffeine it’s self … I had to cut out coffee to maybe once every 6 months … sometimes I crave the taste .. but bakery goods or food that has coffee in it I cannot eat … it gives me eruptions so I just stopped all together

Soda .. I cut completely … noticed it gave me eruptions so bad and the internal itch is crazy. So I stopped . And for the better because now I don’t even crave it no more .
