I have PN on my scalp and was only recently diagnosed. I’m nervous about how the heat will affect me.

Kelly, I have PN and LSC on my scalp and I garden I have found if I get hot and sweaty it causes the areas on my scalp to burn and itch. I believe it’s the salt in the sweat that causes it. If you can stay cool and not sweat, you may be ok. Don’t know what kind of trip you’re going on but if you’re going to say like the beat you can get a cooling hat. You wet it and sling it around in the air and it gets really cool. I bought my from Misson online and wear when working outside in sun. It helps me stay cooler.

You need to stay out of the sun and use a hat. I had problems when I was ib the sun it us like having a heat rash. I have used Sarna in the past to curtail the itch and use cold water when taking a shower

From what I've read, it says don't get hot and I have found that it makes me itch more😩

I find that if I can handle the sun, it's ok. If it's humid in most any warm temperatures, it is always bad for me! You could try a hat that is light, like a sun hat or a straw-type cool hat. And for me, keep the air moving. It can be warm, but the air has to move, at least for me.
I hope you have a great time, and take products you might need to battle PN.

I would say that if you are sitting in the sun, that could be a problem. However, not for everyone. That’s what makes this skin disease so complicated. If you are just traveling to a hot temperature environment, I believe you should be fine. Summer time never bothered me.
I suffer from the scalp madness, but it is not affected by heat. But I would fear sitting on the beach, Yet another sacrifice I’ve had to make.
