Hi Dianna ~ Many people don't start as scratching, nor are we all put in the bin as 'scratchers'. There is much information under the Resources tab that may let you read in to the many facets that can be part of PN as a whole. Some have never had any itch. Some cannot stop the itches. Itching is only a part of it. The bumps of different kinds, the lesions of different kind, both new, continued, and what I call re-animated. PN usually pops out and it is with something else, some have other kinds of skin issues, some cancer, other diseases. My point is that so far, there is nothing simple or straight forward about PN.

There is not a "norm" for PN. There are underlying diseases and conditions that contribute to PN such as dermatitis, psoriasis and many others. There is a resource tab that will be helpful to you.
