yes.. very frustrated with changing band aids or using none... and using different methods like steroid creme to just mupiricin ointment. takes forever to heal and when one section does heal and scar then another area may break out.

I had a punch biopsy done .. came back hyperkeratosis.. later met with a real derm and she told me I had PN! After 3 decades of suffering and still ! I also have Heriditary Hemochromatosis … a metabolic liver problem of storing too much iron. Recently read: current research paper published 2024 called “PN:Axis of PN and Liver Disease. Soo good … they are learning more which means the more they know better treatments could come up. So I have a metabolic problem and an inflammatory/ auto-immune problem!! It has been tough. I only got diagnosed in 2019 and other 2021…. Recently ran into Mast T Cell Activation is part of this. Remember that our “ gut” system s home to our “ immune system!!!!Certainly adds to my research. Why do I spend hours and days researching.. as a RETIRED RN; I do not want to leave my kids behind. to fend for themselves. They are not medical.. i am; and trying to educate them to advocate for themselves !

Plus health care is disjointed right now what with corporations buying out medical practices. Medicine is already in danger of adopting a business model not continuing with medical patient oriented philosophies!

Can't argue with that! I'm a retired laboratory technologist and a licensed medical social worker. Knowledge is power!
