It sounds like you're experiencing a significant increase in the number of prurigo nodularis (PN) nodules. Here are some key points about PN based on my knowledge base:

- Nodule Appearance: PN nodules can vary in size and color. They may be the same color as your skin or appear pink, red, or dark brown. They can range from tiny dots to large, quarter-sized bumps.
- Location: These nodules can develop anywhere on the body that can be easily scratched, such as the arms, legs, back, abdomen, and buttocks.
- Symptoms: The nodules are often very itchy or painful and can break open and bleed from excessive scratching. Over time, they can turn into flat spots or scars.
- Impact: The intense itching and appearance of the nodules can lead to trouble sleeping, missing work or school, and feelings of depression or low self-esteem.

It's important to consult with a healthcare provider to discuss treatment options that can help manage the symptoms and potentially reduce the number of nodules.

Mine were not itchy for the first year or so, as my condition has progressed they have become itchy and painful. PN can be non-itchy for some and prob' develop and change over time.
