thanks for comments!! my dermatologist noted to me that there are many causes of PN, one of which can be anxiety. my PN is on my scalp, & I have always have had time keeping my hands away from hair ... I am in my 70's & it was only a year ago that I found someone that was very instructive in with me. I wash my hair 2x a week with a zinc based shampoo, use Betamethasone Dipropionate applied 2x a day to lesions, as well as taking Claritin & Zytec daily ... dermatologist started cortisone injections the first 3 months I was seeing him. there has been some relief, which I am thankful for ... recently I started, independently, ducking my head under the morning to get my scalp & hair wet ... it seems to be helping. this regimen has only been since the beginning of 2023. this 'condition' started in late 2020 ... I had seen 2 other dermatologist that were not constructive!!! one even mentioned that I needed to start seeing a behavioral counselor & also stop picking (duh!!!).
am thankful for this group as well!!
