Phototherapy, which uses ultraviolet (UV) light, is considered a potentially helpful treatment for prurigo nodularis (PN). Here are some key points:

- Effectiveness: Phototherapy can be effective in easing intense itchiness associated with PN.
- Types of UV Light: Phototherapy primarily uses UVB rays, which are beneficial for skin conditions.
- Risks: Tanning beds and natural sunlight, which emit mostly UVA rays, are risky due to increased chances of skin cancer and skin aging.
- Supervised Treatment: It's best to have light treatment in a controlled healthcare setting where exposure is monitored.

Not at all. Well I’m down to two but I’m aware I. Could wake up tomorrow with a 100 or more.

My Dr uses a freeze gun that they use on warts. He freezes each sore and that has greatly reduced my sores. It hurts like crazy. But when he is done it’s over. Most die off and the ones that don’t he retreats in a month. I’m down to only two sores. I originally had over 100 sores. So I will be going back to retreat in a month. And hopefully I won’t have a major outbreak before then.
