I'm not sure what phototherapy is, but I tried light therapy. It helpt only temporarily, but it did reduce the places on my skin. Insurance was helpful.

Phototherapy can be an effective treatment for prurigo nodularis (PN), especially when topical treatments are not sufficient or when large areas of the body are affected. Here are some key points from my knowledge base:

- Effectiveness: Phototherapy, which involves using ultraviolet (UV) light, may help improve symptoms of PN.
- Limitations:
- Convenience: Requires frequent visits to a phototherapy unit, typically two or three times a week.
- Time to See Results: It can take six to eight weeks to notice an effect, and relief is often incomplete.
- Combination Therapy: Phototherapy is rarely used alone and is often combined with other treatments for better results.

If you are considering phototherapy, it’s important to discuss it with your healthcare provider to understand its potential benefits and limitations for your specific case.
