Before hitting the heavy drugs, give light therapy a go. It took 40 sessions, preceded by a course of prednisone but, apart from scars, my condition is, for the time being, completely gone. Thank you UK National Health Service! I had Lichen Planus since 2006, + PN since 2022.

Hold on. Hold on the only UV light to use for skin conditions I believe is UVB, look that up. My dermatologist prescribed light therapy for me in the form a a Daavlin Series 7 full body four bulb unit which my insurance paid for. It helps with healing but does not cure this disease. Good luck with that.

Using sunbeds or tanning beds for prurigo nodularis (PN) is not recommended. While UV light can help with some PN symptoms, natural sunlight and artificial tanning beds emit mostly UVA rays, which increase the risk of skin cancer and promote skin aging. Phototherapy, which uses UVB rays, is a safer option and should be done under medical supervision. It's best to discuss light treatment with your dermatologist to ensure it's done safely and effectively.
