Interesting. I put calmine lotion on my scalp. Until I wash it lol. It does help I think? Tee tree oil helps. I have to learn to stop picking lol. Makes it much worse.

My cousin with PN of the scalp recovered after 15 years. He said "The sores and itching just stopped one day," He is my first cousin. I know of no other relatives that have PN, altho I have a large family, i.e. 57 first cousins. The only way I knew about the fact that he had this problem (PN) is that that his sister told me. Normally, I would not tell anyone about the PN on my scalp, but I am particularly close to his sister. Somehow I shared my suffering with itching and sores of my scalp with her. That's when she told me about Michael. To me, this confirms that PN is hereditary, through genes. I was encouraged when I discussed this with Michael. However, now after 16-17 years my condition is, if anything, getting worse. I'm trying to be hopeful. Mariana

Good question. It is a disease rather than a sickness, and I have not heard or read of anyone not having it after having it. There is a lot of information under the Resources tab on the top or on the left of the page that may answer questions too.
