Is Anyone Been Given Gabapentin? And What Do You Have To Say About It Good Bad Anything ? If You Don’t Mind Sharing . I Was Just Given Today
I have been taking Gabapentin and honestly it’s the only thing that helps me sleep along with ice when it gets really bad at night, and that’s often. I only take it at night. I don’t want to become dependent on it, it makes you sleepy, dizzy but it really has been a life saver for me. I can get decent sleep on it. I’ve tried Hydroxicene ( sp?) and it doesn’t work as well as the Gabapentin I feel so dragged out the next day, I don’t like the feeling. For me it’s good, takes away the itch for a while it does take a little while to kick in. Use ice until it does. Then take an ice pack with you to sleep. During the night I don’t need the ice packanymore. I’m good for a while. I would say if you want to try it. It is a mild nerve sedative non narcotic. Ask your Dr. I also want to say that I’m on Dupixent it took many weeks, I think I may be turning the corner as I feel ( cautiously) my body is starting to respond to the Dupixent. I’ve been weaning myself off the gabapentin and sometimes the ice! For several nights in a row now🤞🏻
I am on it and it helps with the itching and sleep. I have to use ice too to calm down the itching, burning and stinging. I am also on Dupixent. Not sure if helping much. I was on Rinvoq too but my last CBC had a left shift--abnormal immature granulocytes so I have quit taken it to see if that is the cause. Derm doesn't seem too concerned but I am.
I was on it, but unfortunately it did not help me whatsoever as most everything else I have been prescribed.😱
I have been on Gabapenten three months. It was suggested to me by a home nurse but I read about too many side effects so I refused. My GP said no Chuck it would work for you and I started on 300 mg a day and up to 600 a day now, think I will stay at this dose. It’s a yes from me. I don’t have all over my body pain anymore. The pain I have is localized to the sores, wounds, nodules and is somewhat diminished, so yes good stuff. GABA is also a chemical in your brain. So good luck and I say try it may work for you.
I've taken Gabapentin in the past and it always made me walk at an angle--as if I were drunk. It never really addressed my back pain which is the relief I was seeking.
With respect to Dupixent, I've been taking it for over a year and it has greatly reduced my itching (which is what it is intended to do); however I still pick at my scalp in excess. Yes, it's very pricey, but there are programs in place to assist you greatly with that expense. If you qualify financially, you can obtain it for nothing. Otherwise, there is also a program where you can pay a co-pay instead of full retail.
I've recently decided to try EmuAidMax (first aid serum). i'm pleasantly surprised in that it seems to be helping greatly with my folliculitis and my Prurigo Nodularis (PN). I rarely endorse over the counter items because they rarely work, but this one has some potential in my opinion. I do recommend getting the pricier serum (about $57 including shipping) versus the lesser priced creams. They are also refundable within 30 days if they don't work for you.
