Hello
It's me from Toronto 🍁
I'm not sure about the issue of compounds but it sounds like an immune system issue which I believe is the basis 4 PN
Just my perception obviously
I've also recently injured my spinal disc due 2 a fracture because of degenerative bone mass because of osteopporis which I knew I had from a bone density scan a few years ago
But now my osteoporosis has worsened due 2 the steroid cream I've been using 4 several months
as one of its side effects is bone problems/ worsening osteoporosis unfortunately
I was only scrubbing the baseboards on my hands ,,& knees Wow
I had a MRI as I couldn't even even walk/ move it was sooo painful
I was told by my doctor 2 have an Emergency MRI which U usually have 2 wait months 4 an appointment but because I had lost bladder control they were very concerned
2 cut a long story short the hospital also wants me 2 have a CT scsn which is booked in 2 weeks
All because of a steroid cream U was prescribed by my dermatologist
PN is definitealy a mysterious mystery disease 4 sure affecting everyone in different ways
Take care everyone
Stay safe & healthy
Bye 4 now from Canada

I have had multiple MRI studies for spinal issues. I was never told this was spinal related ; it's more like a dysfunction of the compounds in our bodies related to the urge to itch.

Good question! I have multiple spinal issues and have had nerve ablations done in lumbar region. I asked pain specialist PA if PN could be related but PA never heard of a connection. Said she would ask dr. 🫀
