PN is all about nerves, as well many of us have other issues that are nerve also, like Fibromyalgia. On a personal note, I've had scars that were healed up to 50 years ago, and PN opened up part of them to lesions. The scars were from different causes, burn, knife, trees, surgery, bites.
When a lesion gets to the scab stage, that is when, for me, it has a huge splinter type feel of it, like a buoy in water, and it hurts like heii when touched by anything! So then, I have to put on Clobetasol ointment to get it to soften, so eventually I can start the process of getting the scab off, peeling the hard rim around off (hurts like heii), repeat until it finally heals. At least for me, and that is ALOT for the larger ones.

My lesions are on the outside of my thigh and follow a nerve pattern down to my knee. My hip was replaced on that side -- years ago -- and the skin is still numb but the lesions hurt and itch like hell. Term did a biopsy so she is sure of the diagnosis and 'feels' it follows some nerve inflammation.

This is true. It is my experience that my wounds/sores/lesions are connected somehow by nerves and when one festers more might act up all the way to a full flare up. There is a too much pain for the small size of the lesion. Yes you are right and there is more to this disease fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, body aches and a feeling of being not well. Not good.,.

Yes, for me too, and it seams I cannot dig it out if it is not really ready. I put on Clobetasol ointment which sometimes softens it, so I can eventually get off, which sometimes makes is smaller... That sounded really positive in my head, but reading it, well, it was not meant to be ... well, it is PN, so. I hope you at least smiled, right?

That's how it starts for me, a tiny picky, thornlike thing is in my skin, I pick it off and then it turns into a sore and proceeds to get bigger n bigger.
