I have an evaluation this Monday and if it all checks out I’ll be starting in this clinical trial. I’ve never done one before so I’m a little uneasy but overall optimistic. It’s in phase 3 which I hope is a good thing?

It's great that you're considering participating in a clinical trial for prurigo nodularis (PN). Here are some key points about clinical trials from my knowledge base:

- Phases of Clinical Trials: Phase 3 is indeed a positive sign. It means the treatment has already passed initial safety and efficacy tests in earlier phases and is now being tested on a larger group to confirm its effectiveness, monitor side effects, and compare it to commonly used treatments.

- Safety and Privacy: The FDA regulates clinical trials to ensure participant safety. You'll be provided with clear information about the study, and you'll need to give informed consent before enrolling. You can leave the trial at any point if you choose.

- Benefits: Participating in a clinical trial can give you access to new treatments and specialized care. It also helps advance medical knowledge, potentially benefiting others with PN in the future.

- Risks: There are potential risks, which will be explained to you during the informed consent process. Discuss these with your doctor to understand them fully.

- Support: You can connect with others who have participated in clinical trials on platforms like MyPrurigoTeam to share experiences and get support.

Good luck with your evaluation on Monday!
