My Skin In Certain Areas Is Thin. If I Scratch I Bleed
I bleed too. In fact pretty badly. My lesions are painful, and leave scars. My husband says my arms look ugly 😪
When the lesions are open, I apply 3% hydrogen peroxide. It seems to calm them down.
I'm glad that you mentioned this. Over the past few weeks, I have noticed very thin skin on my lesions that bleeds at the slightest touch. I suspect that it is because Dupixient is causing my lesions to flatten, but I am uncertain. Right now, I am keeping my nails shorter than usual and wearing band-aids when I wear light-color clothing. I'll raise this issue with my dermatologist at our next visit.
I used to use bandaids all the time, until I grew an intolerance to them while I was on dupixent. I'm not sure that it is or is not connected. For now, I use hydrocolloid bandage, one that is tolerated without causing more lesions, for me
Hi Donna, mine gets super thin at times in places. I'm not sure why, but it goes thru rotations for me, it either seams super thin and bleeds almost for no reason, or it goes thick, and can hardly get a crusted scab off. I used to think my skin was kind of thick, before PN went wild. If you figure anything out on it, I would sure love to hear about it! I don't wear many nice and light colored tops when I leave the house anymore, I always get blood on them.
I found that when one of the 8 Dermas injected Cortisone shots in my scalp where my PN is that my skin became thin & started to feel lumpy! So after 4 or 5 times of 9-10 injections on my scalp I moved on to another Derma! I found Cortisone for PN is not all what it is cracked up to be, & when I say cracked the PN & LSC on my scalp are so thick and crusty from itch-scratch cycle that I do not have much bleeding, but plaque & scrabs that are totally thick, red, & inflamed which are beyond painful & SORE! I just ordered some Gold Bond Medicated Maximum Strength Pain and Itch Cream, and also some Gotucream for PN, but knowing from my 15 years with dealing with this, I am almost positive these will not help, but when you're desperate for some relief I will give it try. So many other products, I have had to return. My last hope is Nemolizumab which was supposed to be approved by the FDA and available to patients sooner than later but looks like later as I cannot find any accurate release date, UGH! I so hope you will be able to find some relief Donna7 as what works for some, doesn't work for others! Positive and healing vibes sent your way!❤️
