I Am Now Hypersensitive To Anything Floating In The Air If It Lands On My Skin. I Also Can Feel Web-like Strands On The Surface Of The Skin
I can't get it out of my head that the wound are communicating this way. I should know better than to think that!
RIGHT?
I've had similar sensations that vary from ticklish invisible hair strands to tiny bites to little zings of itch. If the tiniest gnat lands on my arms I definitely know, but sometimes nothing is there at all. It's so strange. AnneDee, I've never considered pollen but I bet our overly sensitive skin would feel that too.
Drew, I have similar sensations as soon as I step out my front door if my lower legs are bare. I feel like gnats are biting me (and they very well may be) and I start to feel itchy. Maybe it's pollen. Now I never go out with bare legs. If I have a robe on in the house, I get the same sensation from the lower edge of the robe touching my skin. I think all of the scratching I did in the past has really sensitized the nerves. I don't scratch much anymore and I see the sensations improving. So far, refraining from scratching has helped me the most, but that's no surprise. I'm not 100% sure of my diagnosis...no biopsy. I have some nodules, mostly erythematous papules (that appear the day after I've scratched an area) and lichenified areas. I'm doing a lot of research to try to figure out why my skin, which never caused me any problems, is now causing me loads of problems. If I find anything of value, I will gladly share here.
Try castor oil it is working for me!
Isn't neurological issues fun with a rare skin disease? No sarcasm there... I personally had neuro issues before PN did a full- blown on me.
The spider effect feels weird to me, but it's also a warning that neuro electric 'zinging' feeling could be on its way.
I just started Nemluvio on 04OCT24, and I'm hoping it works on that for me.
"Better than to think that way"..? No, I believe you have a good head on your shoulders and thinking things thru. I'm sorry that you took have PN, but I'm glad you're here with us! Lots of information under the Resources tab.
It's understandable to feel distressed by the sensations you're experiencing. Prurigo nodularis (PN) can cause intense itching and discomfort, which might make you more sensitive to stimuli. The condition involves changes in nerve fibers and increased Merkel cells, which can heighten your perception of touch and itchiness Show Full Answer
