According To MP-team Self-care Is Important To Get Better. My Question (continues In The Optional Square Beneeth)

A MyPrurigoTeam Member asked a question 💭

The MP-team suggest to do a Favorite activity every day— such as exercise. How can one exercise when PN is triggered by clothes moving against your skin, when you get warm and sweathy............all things that makes PN worse. I would love to go for a walk or the gym but it is impossible due to the above mentioned. If U can exercise U must have a very mild PN form sitting in small not difficult areas. I have on thighs, buttocks, genital area etc. Giving advise to exercise every day just make me… read more

I have arm sleeves I wear and I put cream that help with flare ups and itching. Try very loose clothing and soft. That's what I wear now. Plus take showers not hot with coconut oil or with coconut and almond butter in it. When u lay in bed put ice packs around our legs and under u. Hopefully all that helps. I am so sorry u are going though this like all of us. If u ever need someone to talk to so u don't feel depressed please reach out to me.

I am a huge fan of really large tank tops, like the wide strap men's, and some women, that way I can cool off arms when getting hot, even in winter. I also am getting in to some of the loose fitting 'waffle' tops that are partial or full length sleeve, but are very thin and very airy, and of course cotton.
For sleep, I use benedryl. It helps and helps to sleep, though not an actual sleeping pill.
Just getting outside sometimes is a chore, much less exercising. I love to do yard and garden work, and it really slacked this past summer. Trying to pick days by weather as to when I go outside. You could find gentle things to do inside that will stretch muscles and help get that good feeling going, without sweating which will start another bad row. I have also gone to cross stitching again, doing something positive and feeling like I am accomplishing something helps me too. Do you have any hobbies like that you have done or liked before? Something to take your mind off of PN for awhile.
Please remember that you are not alone. While we don't necessarily go thru the same things, we still have very similar issues and being treated simular too. We are here with you!

I bought a hospital top that unsnaps every where to stop some of the rubbing. I know what you mean though, the rubbing on sores. I have been taking sanitary napkins, cutting them up and sticking them on clothes. For exercise, the only thing I would try is yoga. Right now I have a bunch of sores in my armpit. I understand where you are coming from because I like to knit and read. Moving that arm is so painful I can't. I love to swim, forget that. The sleep, I am afraid I have no suggestions. Maybe some one? People don't understand but this pn runs your life! I have 3 tests Monday at the hospital, keep taking my top off? I am going to try gauze bandages and use the little clips to hold it together. I dread going. This is the pits, isn't it? Consider the hospital clothes that you can unsnap, leave open where it's rubbing. Bless you and if I think of anything, I will holler!
