How Do You Make Medical People Understand "No Adhesives, Please"?

They might ask about latex... I say no adhesives, and they Have to use a bandaid, usually a plastic one that tries to rip my skin off, and does bruise it. Any ideas?

Jodi ~ same here. Look at me like I did something to 'get' this. And, I will just have to pull out the bully side after they take my blood with the, No bandages, and not allow them to put it on. They simply can not fathom that I would want no covering on a hole they just added to my beautifully scarred skin! lol I just don't like to pull that out, especially to health care workers.

Tina, what just the sun, that little old thing. I am so sorry, I hope they see something treatable by the time you get your stitch removed. Ouch!!

When you have a PN sore and you're using any steroid creams, the cream thins your skin. When you use a bandaid, removing it can rip off healthy skin and create a new PN sore. OR. using a bandaid and removing it without carefully removing can rip off skin and cause a PN sore. Ive even got insect bites and they have turned into a PN sore. Also had new sandals on that rubbed top of my feet , turned into a PN sore. Basically any injury can create a long lasting PN sore. Ive had this disease for 10 years now, In the last few years I have figured out for me, drinking beer or alcohol has inflamed the skin from the inside, maybe causing new PN sores to pop up. I thought about sending for one of those gut testing kits to see if something that I'm eating or drinking inflames my skin. My PN has gotten way better not drinking alcohol . .

Also bandaids aren’t the only solution, the use elastic wrap after drawing my blood, blood thinners almost require it.
